Just did that trip yesterday. No way you misconnect, with PZ leaving at 1.30 pm. If you have a LA codeshare ticket on the flight to ASU (instead of PZ 706 as flight number) you will get access to the LA lounges.

On the GRU-ASU issue, people here in Paraguay are waiting for it. It is rather a political issue, as is pointed out above. It has gone so far that PY travel agents cannot issue flights with AA segments on it (at least that is what a TA told me).
