A little run down. Checked in using my SPG points. No problem at all getting a room. Did have to wait until one was cleaned though. It was as has already been said as tiny as a closet. Could not get my bags int he hall between the closet and the bathroom. A/C barely blowing, very dark room. I usually don't mind a dark room but it needs to be cold too and this wasn't a good dark either. Called and asked to be moved. I had to go down and get the new keys. The next room "Non-Smoking" room smelled like a dirty ash tray. Finally called and asked to return my points and I would be moving to The St. Regis (very cool). I just couldn't take it at that Sheraton any more. No problem using the points at the St . Regis. The SPG desk on floor at the Sheraton apologized, returned my miles and gave me $20.00 for a taxi. They handled it nicely and assured me I would enjoy my stay at The St. Regis. It was amazing !!! Felt very welcomed ! I thought the Sheraton NY and Towers would be fine... I kinda like older giant hotels... if they are maintained. This one was not.
