Slot restrictions around the 10am departure hub. ORD was chosen because it is the weakest transatlantic station for KLM with the smallest proportion of premium traffic. As a side note, the return flight, KL612, will now depart in the evening from ORD, which makes it much more vulnerable to Chicago's notoriously unstable weather, both in winter and in summer.
