I couldn't agree less, having just checked out of the W New York and in here. The staff at this property are very friendly - they gave my 3 yr old a coloring book and teddy bear and treat him like a king. In my experience it's the best for an upgrade (yes the suite is really just an attached parlor, but try finding this much space elsewhere in midtown, a opposed to the suite at the Westin which is really just a tv stand dividing the room). Also I love the murphy bed parlor rooms and the lounge is not half bad.

I will admit that as a huge convention hotel this place has some downsides. However, when checking into the W the doormen watched as I unloaded all of my luggage from the taxi by myself, and then told me I couldnt take a cart to bring my own luggage inside, suggesting that I go inside to check in and leave it laying on the sidewalk. This would never happen at the SNYHT
