Uh, this is Amtrak, the poor stepchild of public transportation, you're talking about. I quit taking Northeast Corridor trains because both Boston/NYC and NYC/DC trains always seemed to get me there an hour late. YMMV--maybe it's my train karma--but I'd take my chances with the cheap bus.
