1973 was still jet set time.

And yes, flying was still somewhat scary. You would sit in the back of a 707 and you could see the fuselage twisting under load. And all that very complex flap structure.

Then there was the BAC 111 and the deep stall mode. You would still occasionally hear about acquaintances or at least second hand ones who would have died in a crash.

But surely wine was still good in Y.

Ah, the good old times.
