Surely CO has the muscle to revisit a shuttle of some sort for its South Harris County-Galveston County customers. My real desire is maybe CO/Amtrak to offer some sort of train shuttle to IAH only. Can you research and report back on this? I thought about calling Corporate or just waiting until the annual Golf tourney to ask one of the execs, but this seems like a good place to ask.
Hello GLS neighbor...
I've come to realize that an EFD-IAH flight is a crazy idea (though GLS would be nice). The extra schedule padding required for a 10 minute flight would increase travel time by several hours. The flights really would only work if you're already at EFD.
I doubt there's demand for flights more often than every 2 hours, which means that you're adding 1:50 to each trip (30 minute min. connection time, average wait for a flight every 2 hours, plus 20 minute flight & taxi time). That's a lot worse than the 45 minute EFD-IAH drive time, and it's a lot worse than my worst time between the two (probably 1:30 or so). The comparison is even worse for HOU.
A remote parking lot just off I-45 near EFD with bus shuttle service every 1/2 hour would be a different story.
