I've been through T3, although not yet on UA. (Doing that on Thursday and will post a report.) The terminal itself, however, is quite impressive. Large, beautiful, well organized... a first in China, I think. Very reminiscent of Hong Kong.
Be prepared to go a long distance to get to your United flight. From check-in to the security area to the train and then on to your gate in the distant international area, you'll be traveling well over one mile -- a good portion of it on foot.
There is a Starbucks OUTSIDE security, and you can't take your drinks through. So don't buy your coffee there.
When I fly out on Thursday, I'll be in F, so I will report on the F experience, including check-in, lounge, gate experience, etc. Anything else you guys would like me to record/document?
Also -- the PEK folks apparently have no intention of reducing the number of buses used to get you to your plane. I have flown into and out of the airport twice since it opened (yes, seriously! my life sucks) and BOTH times for CA flights I have taken a bus. Ridiculous. So if you have onward connections UA to CA, don't be upset if you're on a bus to the onward flight...
