Back to airlines though, here in Canada we have Air Canada and there is always a sense of "home" just boarding the aircraft. The experience continues when you get Canadian newspapers handed out, watch the news from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, see red maple leaf logos all over the aircraft ... It's no wonder really that airlines easily become something of a national symbol despite the fact that they are privately-run corporations.

Finally on the topic of T5, my condolences to you Brits! (And everyone affected by what's going on!) Hopefully things get fixed soon. It sounds like it's a pretty nice terminal and BA in the end is still a good airline; perhaps next week things will be running smoothly.
What the devil does bashing America have to do with the goings on at T5? Does this somehow mitigate the embarassment for the British ?
