Yep, I got the bad news in an email as well. For those of you who didn't get it, here is the exact wording:

"Members may earn a maximum of 2,000 HHonors profile update bonus
points per calendar quarter through September 30, 2002. As of
October 1, 2002, members may earn 500 HHonors profile update bonus
points with a maximum of 1,000 HHonors points"
