Hiking opp'ys in the Laurentians?
My closest old friend and I get together once a year from our respective hideouts on opposite sides of the USA for a few days of tourism, and we always like to include one "signature hike" as part of the festivities. Usually this is something of around 6-10 miles of well-marked nature trails of varying terrain. (Some examples: in '03 we hiked up Sulphur Mountain in Banff, in '04 we hiked Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick and we also found an out-of-the-way hiking trail in PEI (did I mention we LOVE Canada?), and this past year we did a 10-mile hike along the Tahquamenon River and Falls in the UP of Michigan.)
This year we are leaning toward another Canadian trip around the Spetember timeframe, this time to Montreal and the Laurentians. I've been researching our "signature hike" options and everything I've found around the Mont Tremblant area suggests that I'll find what we're looking for in this area, but I can't seem to locate any specifics on particular hikes/trails.
Can anyone experienced in this region point me in the right direction(s)?
