I know there are various discussions regarding this offer already in progress, but I thought I would start a new one since those are very voluminous.

I got the offer in the mail yesterday, with 50,000 bonus membership rewards points being credited 6 weeks after my first purchase. Looks great and I will probably sign up over the next couple of days. I am not happy about the extra $175 for an additional cardholder, but I guess it is what it is...

How soon after upgrading do you actually receive the Platinum card? Has anyone been very dissapointed with the platinum after upgrading from the gold card?
