I'm going to Israel and Egypt this summer and need to buy airfare to and from JFK. I'm flying out a day early to PHL to stay with a friend, so I'm booking a multi-city trip: PDX-PHL, JFK-PDX. Obviously, I want to fly Skyteam to earn miles on DL. I went to Student Universe (never used them before) and they have a cheaper option than I've been able to find elsewhere. Same thing on DL is more expensive by $150.

Question: Will I earn mqm's? Student Universe says I will earn skymiles. Also, will be I be eligible for upgrades on DL since I'm a FO? I did a search on FT, but the evidence was inconclusive, especially about upgrades.
