Got bumped down to Gold status this time around and tried to enroll in a Platinum Challenge now that my travel is picking back up. Anyone hear of AA not allowing people to enroll in challenges in back-to-back years?

I have called 3 times talking to 3 different agents. They all have said the same thing. Has anyone else run into this problem and what's a way around it?
