I've used both Equinox and the Sports Club LA and much prefer the Sports Club. It is much less crowded than Equinox, decorated in marble and with floor to ceiling windows. The staff is also exceptionally professional and helpful, more so than Equinox. I believe if you stay at the FS you can get daily access to the Sports Club LA. Ritz offers daily access to Equinox for a 45$ fee.
