Guestek Wireless help

I have run into a bizarre problem with the Guestek Wireless system in La Quinta hotels over the past 2 weeks. The Guestek Help Desk can't figure this out, and my IT department hasn't been willing, so I thought I'd run it by the group here. This has happened in 3 different LQ hotels over the past two weeks so I know it's something with my computer.

Let's get the obvious smart response out of the way--travel policy strongly guides towards La Quinta and a deeply discounted corporate rate. Besides, most of the properties are pretty decent.

My Latitude D630 sees the wireless network and shows that it is trying to connect. While it is trying to connect, I can access the Guestek page, sign in, and browse internet sites. That's how I'm posting this right now. It never shows that it is actually connected, but about 4 minutes into the connection I can no longer browse. It does this whether I'm plugged in or on battery.

Any ideas?
