Compensation for these issues is always a touchy issue. My wife and I are polar opposites on this...I generally take a back seat and don't protest too much...she is just the opposite. In this case I asked her to let it go as we were sans kids and I just wanted to relax for the weekend...I also secretly hoped the FS would step up and comp us something so I could get her to relax in the future and do things "my way"...no such luck! :-)
I also forgot to mention that when we returned, they provided us with two very nice spa robes for free in our room, which I thought was a nice touch!
I also thought a phone call from the front desk was in order about the snake incident...again, knowing it was not their fault, but it would have been nice to get a phone call checking to make sure everything was in order.
