Hhoope, you seem to have mistaken what I wrote. If I were to insinuate that the OP felt they were entitled to a status match, I would have specifically written: "... but what makes you think you're entitled to one?" I was simply asking why the OP would even ask if MR matches airline status. I mean obviously, it would be nice if being MR Plat. or a Centurion card holder involved my also being the highest levels in other rewards programs, but I wouldn't find that fair to the people who actually meet the criteria of the level they hold.
Anyways, I believe the Concierge answered this in a previous thread and the answer was no, that generally speaking Marriott does not match status from other programs, but will occasionally offer a status challenge requiring fewer nights than it might normally take to reach the desired status.
