arriving at SFO International (LH transatlantic from MUC or FRA), I didn't have to wait long for my luggage (you pick up your luggage before passing US costums and, if connecting (inner USA connections with UA, luggage checked-through and tagged to the final destination already in Europe), you just hand it nearby after immigration to UA staff there.

BUT, twice out of three times in the last 12 months (connecting once to SEA/YVR, once to RNO, once to LAS), each time with more than 120 time at SFO and no arrival delay, the luggage didn't make it to the final destination the same day (once I only got back my ski-boots when back in Europe ...).
