Ummm, I don't know that place? What I meant was there is a large 'local' street parallel to the canal north of the Rialto bridge that has regular supermarkets (carts, aisles, local people buying groceries etc). I remember buying wine for e 3-5, and a whole bottle of 'Bellini' for e 4, along with a loaf of fresh bread & some cheeses, other snacks etc.
I also do enjoy having a glass of wine at a nice outdoor cafe, or at the hotels restaurant terrace, for which I will spend the e15-20 on, But at the end of the day, back in my hotel room it is nice to be able to have a glass of wine, or a coca cola and not be charged an enormous room service sum
