Hi flyinglawyer, you have the right idea, find out as much before hand and the flight will be a breeze.
On your own, then I would recommend 1A, I love it, it's the first seat in the nose, and you are on your own to do as you wish. Plenty of room to spread papers out, and a long wide shelf down the entire side and 3 or 4 windows to enjoy the view. Otherwise I prefer the centre two seats.
If you are partial to a lobster, or a particular style of cooking, book the chef is available, where you pre order special meals. You can start this on the website and the local poffice will ring and discuss menu items with you.
If you are on a night flight and wish to sleep, engage ear plugs and shades and advise the FA not to wake you. A doona is under the foot rest if you get cold, but the blanket usually is enough.
On arrival in BKK you will be met with a golf cart immediately on departing the plane and whisked through immigration, then onto the baggage collection to collect your bits and pieces and they will not leave you until you are in your cab/car.
Departing BKK is a scream, even a trifle embarassing, albeit enjoyable. They meet you at the car, they being 4, maybe 5 porters, and escort you through to your private checkin, then they grease you through passport control and customs and parade you the full lenght of the business lounge into the first lounge.
Allow yourself a couple of hours and partake of the spa and massage, this will make your next leg so relaxing, the desk will arrange it all for you, and then sample the food. Please don't do as I did and try to serve myself, no, it's I will have a little of that, yes a bowl of this, and a pleasant champagne to ease it all down.
The golf cart will take you to your plane just in time for them. On your return you will be a pro and know how it all works. You will love TG, I fly with them a lot, it's a personal opinion, but I think they really care and if handled correctly will do anything to make your flight with them so exciting. regards bkkrop
