Does your macbook pro have that magnetic connection for the charger? I'm guessing that's why no one makes an aftermarket charger to fit becuase Apple has a patent on that system.
A higher wattage charger makes your battery charge faster, so that's probably why computer manufacturers keep pumping out these high wattage chargers, but at some point I hope they'll start considering the limitations people face when using them in an airplane. Modern aircraft are going away from D/C empower, I don't see it very often anymore.
Apple started selling a magsafe airline adaptor recently. They apparently gave up on waiting for a 3rd party to do it for them. You can get it directly from Apple
here. It's $49. It will not charge your battery, but it will provide power.
