There is not much that AA can do when LAX decides to close gates due to construction or repavement of the ramp/taxi-way surface. However, here is a calendar from www.lawa.org construction schedule of when the AA odd # gates are to be closed.

doesn't it seem that LAX closes these gates at least once a year?
