Warning about 44 "Construction" gates at LAX
My apologies if this has been posted before - I just ran into it today.
When I checked in for my flight home (family in tow), I was told we were at gates under construction, and my ticket jacket had a notice on it that we had to get to the gate 35 minutes prior to departure, and no beverages were allowed on the shuttle to the remote terminal.
Being paranoid about missing the flight, I hurried my family to the shuttle waiting area, where a hundred or so folks were waiting on the shuttle. After twenty minutes, the LAX shuttle showed up and took us to the satellite area.
...where there is nothing. It's a big white room with gates and gate agent areas. Not even a freaking coffee stand.
So - no feeding the family before getting on foodless Y.
In any event - this is the warning - if you're low on calories before a flight, buy food in the main concourse; because once you hit the shuttlebus area you're SOL on picking up anything until your flight lands.
