There are 2 ways of paying for travel on the London Underground - cash or Oyster smartcard.

You get a discount if you pay using an Oyster card. The cash single fare from Heathrow to zone 1 (central London) is £4 at all times. With Oyster you pay £3.50 at peak times and £2 off-peak.

You can get an Oyster card at any tube ticket office, or international visitors can buy them online:
