doing 2 days in VIE then off to BUD for 5 (4 really).

We were thinking of taking the fast boat down river to BUD (Hydro-foil), some friends told us the river is beautiful. Has anyone done this before? I imagine the train is shorter then the 5 1/2 hr boat ride, but if its as nice as they say why not
