CALGARY - New York City just got a whole lot more interesting for Calgarians, as Air Canada launches a multi-trip pass to the Big Apple in what industry watchers call a move to grab market share.
Air Canada, the nation's top carrier, announced Thursday a special promotion called the New York Weekender Pass for Western Canada, with departures from Calgary, as well as Edmonton and Vancouver.
The move comes a week after WestJet Airlines Ltd., Canada's No. 2 airline, announced a new seasonal non-stop service to New York via Newark starting June 2.
