"Quality toothpaste" in LH premium C cabin
Guys and girls,
In recent months, I have been straying a lot from LH. Flying BA, CX, AF, TG and the like, in C and F. I almost feel guilty, walking by the LH airport manager at my favorite airport, greeting him, and then checking in with another airline. But I must say, all of these airlines are (at least) up to par with LH regarding seat comfort, IFE, meals. Only that they are light years behind the great HON program (AF Platinum and all the other Elite programs are not worth it).
There is a small thing, however, that really drives me nuts. It is the fact that all of these competitors have adequate beauty cases they offer to their premium passengers, with quality amenities. On LH, why do I have to live with a tooth paste that says "quality toothpaste" and "made in China" and that tastes awful, if I have to pay several thousand US$ for a ticket (most recently seen on FRA-BKK)??? Why does LH offer me a moisturizing lotion that needs the duration of the flight to penetrate my skin (again a no-name made in China)? Or a shaving cream that does not foam? How miser can an airline be if they are not even willing to pay a small price premium for a 12.5 ml Colgate (or other brand) product for their premium passengers? Or have they turned the premium cabin into a profit center for product testing? On LH, I meanwhile feel like a guinea pig for the Chinese chemical industry.
Thoughts?
Best,
CalFlyer.
