you might also consider the maldives, especially for 2 weeks.. four seasons landaa giraavaru and one & only reethi rah are very well regarded here. much better value than bora bora.
I have never been to Bora Bora so I can not comment. But I am currently booked for the St.Regis Bora Bora for about USD1100 per night including all taxes and fees using the Amex pay 4 stay 5 promotion in an overwater bungalow.
