On occasion the airlines will ask for return travel proof before boarding a person in Europe for US travel. I have seen them, several times, make my travel companions go back and actually print up the e-tix iten before checking them in at BRU, FCO, AMS, and DUS. Normally, I am told, the USCIS person will ask for that.
