With regards to star alliance, CX or PAL is not a star alliance flight. my question is, if you hold a star alliance gold card and you just disembarked from the flight from LAX, would they allow you to use the lounge considering youre taking CX to Manila?(No star alliance flights from HKG-MNL).
This was a regularly published fare in the US. It may be gone by now. Also note it was ++ so if you're looking it will probably be a few hundred more considering fuel+taxes.
As for the lounge issue, unfortunately not. Star Gold lounges are only departure, not arrival lounges, so you're out of luck. However, this really isn't a big deal at HKG which is a great airport where you can easily blow a couple of hours. That or avail yourself of one of the pay lounges.
