Doubletree Club Orange County Airport report March 2008
Preface: In Orange County to see a clients' new building and dinner.
Status: Diamond.
Rate: Around $120 for a weekday.
Transportation: Rented a car at SNA.
Parking: A ok size lot. No charge for parking.
Check-in: I did not have much expectations having been to a Doubletree Club at JFK years ago. That was enough to keep me away for these "Clubs". I was upgraded to a king room facing the "lake". Given a cookie.
Perks: Given voucher for drink in bar and one for breakfast in the morning. Did not use either.
Lounge: None.
Room: The room was a nice size and comfortable. You enter onto carpet. To your right is the closet followed by a frig with nothing in it. You have a tv cabinet, then sofa, windows, coming to the desk and bed. The room had two bottles of water and a letter from the GM.
Bathroom: A ok size with single basin sink. Tub/shower combo with push out rod. Neutrogena amenities.
Internet: Wired. Like $11 total. Comped for Diamonds. I had to get it taken off in the morning.
Gym: Did not make it. Should have again since we went to Mastros.
Spa: I don't think so.
Eating venues: Nothing around the Hotel in walking distance. Hotel has a restaurant.
Local markets: Nothing within walking distance.
Local area: Nothing but lots if you have a car.
Negatives: The bathroom was a little dirty. I could hear the elevator motor from my second floor room. Kinda weird.
Closing: Would stay again. Reasonable price, clean and a straight shot in the morning to SNA with gas stations along the way.
