Hi my 4 yr old and I are flying Air New Zealand (but it's an Air Canada pkg) from Australia to Vancouver. The way our ticket is now, we have 4.5 hrs in Vancouver airport. The 5:15 flight wasn't available in the package fare. Thus we arrive in VAncouver at 2:15 and leave at 6:30 pm to fly to Calgary. My Travle AGent has tried to change this flight but it's not available on the package. She suggested that when we land at Vancouver to go to a Air Canada checkin and ask if there's room if we can get put on an earlier flight. Has anyone ever done this?? The way it stands now, we won't get to my folks till about 10:30 at night (they live some distance away from Cgy Intl). Any suggestions?

I can buy yet another ticket for an earlier flight but would forfeit one included in pkg.
