I've done it, but in a different way.
I received a $25k BOA USAir card that had a 0% rate for nearly a year. I had a HELOC that was about that. And I travel every week as a consultant, which means anywhere between 12-15k$ in expenses per month. So I simply charged my expenses on my CC until I was near the max, and used the expense reimbursement to pay the HELOC off. At the end of the year, I simply re-borrowed on the HELOC to pay off the CC without interest.
I probably saved about 2k$ in interest! (and got a ton of US FF miles).
