I recently flew SEA-TPE-BKK and return in business on CI. The SEA-TPE legs were on the A-340 while the BKK flights were on the 330. I agree the seats are old-style but I found them comfortable enough for sleep. I thought the service was very good (on par with CX and SQ) and the main meals were good. Both Trans-pac legs were "late night supper" service, so they were quick and presented in just 2 courses. However, that is my preference so I can maximize sleep time. The on-demand entertainment system was good once i figured it out.
I have to agree that the snack service was not good. I had a ham sandwich, which was dry and had only a single thin slice of ham and a single slice of non-descript cheese. Other than that minor quibble, I enjoyed the flights.
