Out of concern for the security of your account, I cannot process a name-change request sent by e-mail or fax.
The annoying (but not surprising) part is that you went to united.com which told you to email the request, only to subsequently be told that you have to mail in a request in writing. Why, oh why can't united.com just present the correct instructions?
