In and out of HNL, the ORD flight is the hardest to upgrade. There are many elite members on the upgrade wait list and this flight has many elite members. As it is a long flight, everyone wants to upgrade. This flight is hard to upgrade especially if you purchase a ticket at the last minute and try to upgrade. I was not upgraded on 2 of my HNL-ORD flights last year and one of the ticket was on a Y fare. Unless you could confirm an upgrade in advanced, this flight is very difficult to upgrade when you are placed on a wait list.
