Unless you are planning an eveing meeting when you travel from West coast to East coast you really lose the whole day. It does not matter if you take a non-stop or a connecting flight. Even if you took a SFO-IAD non-stop you would lose most of any gain getting out of IAD and driving to Baltimore. Plus it will take more than an hour to get to the Marriott.
So if the meeting is in Baltimore, take the SFO-BWI non-stop the afternoon before and stay at the Marriott Waterfront. You'll be well rested by the next morning and ready for your meeting. Then you can either take a late afternoon/early evening flight home. Even better, spend the evening in Baltimore and take the non-stop back to SFO at 8:00 AM the next day. We have good restaurants for you to try.
