It is true, as brp references, but the way the OP had asked the question is a little misleading. It's not a "coach FF seat" issue, or a "BC/FC FF seats" issue. You simply can't buy any ticket on aa.com - award or purchased - until 329 days before departure. If you call AA, you can buy flights 331 days before departure.
