I called and was about to cancel my Citi AA MasterCard when they offered me a new twist of a retention bonus: 5 miles per dollar spent at gas stations, supermarkets and drugstores for 12 months. I have heard of 5 points per dollar on various cash and points card but this is the first time I have heard of 5 AA miles. I bit and kept the card and will use it just for those items.
