Should be no problem with TG miles posting. I fly about 30 TG segments a year and they all post very quickly. Also its only 800 baht more ($20) to fly business class and you also earn the 25% bonus.
Just make sure TG enters you MP number when you check in, it will show on your boarding pass as UA*G if prem x or 1k, other wise just UA.
