I've been trying to get a straight answer for months from Avianca regarding their top tier Elite status (executive platinum) to verify that they grant unlimited upgrades to J on domestic and international flights when space is available --- not using miles or upgrade certificates.

I want to verify because when I talked to an agent at the MIA airport she said it's not true... it's only for domestic flights within colombia. But the avianca website says it is a benefit.

Can anyone give a final answer? I wrote to Avianca in Miami a few weeks ago and I think they won't write back. I wrote to their email in Colombia but I get a form response that doesn't answer the question.
