If you are going to use LHR a lot (and I would assume that you are):

You will get dedicated check in only with Gold/F travel.
You get the F lounge only with gold.
The access to BA lounges whenever you travel (no matter which airline) is also worth having.

For USD 550 it is porbably worth it.
