Is there any way you can switch to two smaller bags, especially if you are overweight?

The overweight fee is $75 and it would cost a lost less to just buy a cheap set of suitcases and fly with two. All my wheeled suitcases attach together so I'm only pulling one in the airport so handling two isn't a big deal (and the odds of both getting lost are a lot less.)

On the other hand, if you are traveling in Europe by air (aside from your first trip to get there), you need to know the inter-europe limit is usually ONE bag, no more than 20Kg. And yes, they charge if you are over. This is much less than the international allowance and can make travel within europe a lot trickier. (This is my biggest issue since I combine trips so spend 1 month at a time there, flying to a new country each weekend, limited to one 20kg bag unless I fly Star Alliance carriers - they give me more baggage allowance due to my status.)
