Glorious trip! Everything has gone perfectly until today. Thought never even occurred to us to check our return flights. Arrived at Christchurch airport nice & early to have lunch--bad news they say. NZ6 AKL-LAX has been cancelled. You can stay in Christchurch or take your flt to AKL and stay there; we choose the latter. We were actually lucky, we got on NZ6 the next day; some folks have to wait 2 days to get out! They've put us all up in the Centra airport hotel, it's fine. Guess we'll have another day in NZ, checking out Auckland! How many displaced people--600-700? Heard it was mechanical problems. Calling & e-mailing home/work to say we'll be 24 hours late.
