They also gave me HK$1500 and voucher (lounge access and luggage allowance for future use) as compensation.
My question is: is it a good deal? If no, how much more should they give me?

Me neither - of course I'm way too organized to be late to check-in. Can you imagine the riot if they offered that deal on the speaker "first one to the gate gets it!" I would fear for the safety of the women and children in the terminal...
