I think those are more than hints that the offer is a targeted one. In addition to what I noted before in support of that conclusion, I see the link in your email takes you to a Chase "pay your taxes" webpage very similar to the regular page, with the following language added in: "The maximum reward accumulation for this promotion is 15,000 miles...Reward program may be subject to your earnings cap (if applicable)." "Subject to your earnings cap (if applicable"?
So
ehlfg, any thoughts about why they might have targeted you for double miles? Have you used your card to pay taxes in the past, perhaps big sums? Do you charge extraordinary sums with the card, or carry big balances, or otherwise allow them to earn a lot from your business? Have you been targeted by Chase with other offers?
