As long as say, you do , CMB-x/SIN-LAX-x/SIN-CMB
SQ raises the fare to ex-SIN levels as though you are stopping over. Note how many of us have always tried to stop over just 23 hours..!

But no more, the minute you buy a ticket from anywhere outside of Singapore, and if the fare is cheaper than originating from Singapore, the fare calculation will 'break' at SIN.
I'll post a fare calculation later to show you what I mean. Have to dash off to catch a flight now...
