I just landed in LGW today from NW WBC on the A330 - you're going to like it! Very comfortable way to travel. The service, again, wasn't amazing but I was perfectly happy with the seat, the new aircraft, the decent main course (beef was good) and the wines.
The WC in the center of the concourse (near the shops) is probably best for you...the Paris flights leave nearby I believe (Gate 40 or so?). It's a great club - plenty of room, good furnishings, free booze, etc. The food offerings aren't great (cheese, carrots, celery, snack mixes), but everything else is.
I know it's a bit tacky, but the Jose Cuervo Tequileria has decent food and excellent margaritas if you're up for that. Food-wise, their crab cakes & salads are probably the 'lighter' options and most flyer-friendly. It's up near gate 60, right below the train stop.
