The fact that when you click on "Print/email e-ticket receipt" comes up with an error message means that the e-ticket does not match your booking.

When a miles booking is upgraded it is sent to servicing to manually debit the extra miles and they pass it to ticketing to reissue the e-ticket. The ticketing department will not reissue the e-ticket until they can see that the miles have been debited.

When its sent to servicing it usually takes them no more than 72hrs to manually deduct the miles. When it gets passed to ticketing it can take anything from 48 hrs to 24 hrs before your flight for them to reissue the ticket.

As your miles haven't been debited yet, it would suggest that the process hasn't been started by the original agent you spoke to. PM me if you need any more info.
